Baltimore leads the majors with 67 home runs this year, adding two more to its total in last night\u2019s three-run victory.\u00a0 The Orioles entered the middle game of the series on pace to hit 245 round trippers for the entire season, which would be the second-highest single season total in franchise history.\u00a0 Shortstop J.J. Hardy has contributed to those numbers of late, hitting .305 with six home runs and 15 RBIs in the month of May.\u00a0 Baltimore is 10-3 in day games, with the \u201cover\u201d being 7-5 in that situation.<\/p>\n

Orioles starting pitcher Jake Arrieta (2-4, 4.72 ERA) failed to earn a decision in a 2-1 road win over the Washington Nationals last time out, giving up a single run and six hits over seven frames.\u00a0 The right-hander has registered a 1-3 record and 6.44 ERA in five home starts, surrendering six home runs in 29.1 innings.\u00a0 In three career efforts versus the Red Sox, Arrieta is 0-2 with a 5.51 ERA, including an 0-2 mark and 5.56 ERA in two outings a year ago.<\/p>\n
