The Los Angeles Dodgers have won four of their first five series this year<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Atlanta has won six of its last eight games after picking up a 4-3 win over Los Angeles in the middle game of this series.\u00a0 The Braves\u2019 offense has managed to score just six runs in the first two games, but still leads the NL with 97 runs and are tied for second with 21 home runs.\u00a0 The club is still just 148-205 all-time in this series when playing on the road.\u00a0 \u00a0 Atlanta is 0-2 when the total is 7 or less this season, with the \u201cunder\u201d cashing in both of those contests.<\/p>\n

Braves starting pitcher Brandon Beachy (2-1, 0.47 ERA) has rattled off a pair of wins since dropping his season-opening effort, including a 9-1 road win over the Arizona Diamondbacks last time out, scattering four hits over 7.1 shutout innings.\u00a0 The right-hander was 4-2 with a 3.34 ERA in 12 road starts last year, but served up 11 home runs in 70 combined frames.\u00a0 Beach will be facing the Dodgers for the third time in his brief career, coming in with a 1-0 record and 2.25 ERA.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles has won four of its five series this season and will look to improve upon the Major League\u2019s best home record.\u00a0 The Dodgers are 7-1 in the early going at Dodger Stadium, with outfielder Matt Kemp continuing to lead the way, leading all of baseball with a .455 batting average and nine round trippers.\u00a0 Kemp and fellow outfielder Andre Ethier came into last night\u2019s game leading the majors with 22 RBI apiece.\u00a0 Los Angeles is 19-19 at home with a money line of -100 to -125 the last two-plus seasons.<\/p>\n

Dodgers starting pitcher Ted Lilly (2-0, 0.69 ERA) has won both of his starts this season,\u00a0 including a 6-1 win over the San Diego Padres in his only home effort.\u00a0 The left-hander is 5-2 with a 3.86 ERA in 10 career starts versus the Braves, limiting them to a .223 batting average.\u00a0 Lilly was much better at night than during the day in 2011, going 10-9 with a 3.24 ERA in 23 starts (2-5, 5.87 daytime ERA).<\/p>\n

Bettors will likely back the Dodgers due to their 9-1 record following a loss, while the Braves are 3-12 in their last 15 road games versus a left-handed starter.<\/p>\n
