The Wisconsin Badgers lead the nation in scoring defense entering Tuesday's Big Ten Conference opener<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Wisconsin comes in with an 11-2 record and has spent 18 consecutive weeks in the AP Top 25 poll.\u00a0 The Badgers are on a record-setting pace at the defensive end, allowing opponents a nation\u2019s-low 44.7 points per game.\u00a0 It\u2019s also important to note that the program leads college basketball in limiting foes to just 33.5 percent shooting from the floor.\u00a0 In winning five games in a row, the team has allowed 54 points or less in each of those contests.\u00a0 Wisconsin is 8-2 ATS on the year and the \u2018under\u2019 is 7-2 in that span of games.<\/p>\n

The Badgers are led by the play of preseason All-American Jordan Taylor, who ranks second on the team in points, while sitting seventh nationally with a 3.3 assist-to-turnover ratio.\u00a0 Wisconsin has won eight consecutive Big Ten Conference openers dating back to the 2003-04 season, winning those contests by an average of 17.3 points per game.\u00a0 Tuesday\u2019s game marks the 17th all-time meeting in this particular series, with the Badgers posting a 6-10 record, including a 1-6 mark in Lincoln.<\/p>\n

Nebraska comes off the holiday break with an 8-3 record and picked up a 72-69 win over the Central Michigan Chippewas on Dec. 20.\u00a0 The Huskers tallied a 7-9 record in their final season of Big 12 Conference play and certainly know they are up against it versus tonight\u2019s opponent.\u00a0 It\u2019s unknown if the entire roster will be available, as center Jorge Diaz and Dylan Talley have both missed the last two games.\u00a0 Nebraska is 0-2 ATS this season when the total is 119.5 or less.<\/p>\n

The Huskers will be playing a ranked team for the first time this season, but finished the 2010-11 campaign with a 3-3 record against such opponents a year ago.\u00a0 Senior guard Bo Spencer will need to perform at a high level in order to pull off the upset, sitting seventh in the conference in averaging 16.0 points per game and fifth in dishing out 4.3 assists per contest.\u00a0 He was an all Big 12 Conference performer a year ago and led the program in both scoring and assists.<\/p>\n

Bettors will likely back the Badgers due to their 6-2 ATS mark as a road favorite of 7 to 12.5 points, while the Huskers are 1-4 ATS at home.<\/p>\n
