The Detroit Titans will honor former coach Dick Vitale Monday night<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

St. John\u2019s stays out on the road after being handed an 81-59 loss to the Kentucky Wildcats as 24-point underdogs, returning home after this contest to play in the Madison Square Garden Holiday Classic on Dec. 17.\u00a0 The Red Storm will not have head coach Steve Lavin on the sidelines, continuing with this modified schedule after having successful surgery to treat prostate cancer.\u00a0 The program will be in search of its first road victory of the 2011-12 season, going 9-9 away from home a year ago.\u00a0 St. John\u2019s is 13-12 ATS on the road the past two-plus years.<\/p>\n

The Red Storm have four players that average double digits with God\u2019sgift Achiuwa and Moe Harkless each collecting their first double doubles in their career against the Wildcats.\u00a0 Achiuwa\u2019s success has certainly carried over from being a two-time JUCO All-America selection at Erie Community College in New York City.\u00a0 St. John\u2019s has really struggled on the glass through the first month of the season, getting out-rebounded by four boards per game.<\/p>\n

Detroit will be hosting the \u201cDick Vitale Court Dedication\u201d prior to Monday night\u2019s game inside Calihan Hall.\u00a0 The Titans have split the two prior meetings with the Red Storm, coming away with a 66-64 win in the NCAA Tournament during the 1998 season in the last meeting.\u00a0 The team has lost its first two Horizon League games to start the year, including a 66-61 loss to the Cleveland State Vikings as 2.5-point home underdogs last time out.\u00a0 Bettors will find that that Titans are 1-6 ATS on the year and the \u2018under\u2019 is 4-3 in those contests.<\/p>\n

The Titans are coming off a sensational performance from the free throw line despite losing to the Vikings, hitting 20 of 22 shots, which was their first game of hitting 90 percent from the charity stripe since 2006.\u00a0 Sophomore guard Ray McCallum is the leader offensively, as he was honored as the Preseason Horizon League Player of the Year.\u00a0 Detroit had three players receive first-team preseason honors within the league, but Eli Holman is currently out indefinitely due to a campus incident.\u00a0 He led all players in the league in rebounding.<\/p>\n

Bettors will likely back the Red Storm due to their 5-1 ATS mark following a straight-up loss, while the Titans are 1-8-2 ATS versus non-conference foes.<\/p>\n
