class="wp-caption-text">Giants QB Eli Manning hopes to have a big game in his return home to New Orleans.

The New York Giants will try to avoid falling out of first place in the NFC East when they visit the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. The Giants (6-4) need to keep pace with Dallas after the Cowboys earned a 20-19 victory against the Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving Day while the Saints (7-3) hope to stay ahead of the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC South following their bye week.

New York has dropped two games in a row after putting together a three-game winning streak. The Giants have still scored 20 points or more in eight of their past nine and will probably need to total much more than that against a New Orleans team that has averaged 39 in winning the last two meetings.

The Saints (-7.5, O/U 51) have won those games due to the strong play of quarterback Drew Brees, who completed 23 of 30 passes for 369 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in the last meeting alone, resulting in a 48-27 rout. Brees has never lost to New York in three career starts, going 3-0 with seven touchdowns overall and no picks.

New Orleans has been outstanding at home this season, going 4-0 both straight-up and against the spread. Only one opponent has managed to lose by less than 11 points to the Saints at the Superdome, as Houston blew a 26-17 lead in the fourth quarter of a 40-33 setback in Week 3.

The biggest concern for the Giants will be trying to protect their QB Eli Manning after he was sacked three times in a 17-10 home loss to Philadelphia last week. Their offensive line will be without left tackle Will Beatty, who underwent successful surgery on Thursday to reattach the retina in his right eye.

Manning returns home to New Orleans and could use some more help from his running game. Running back Ahmad Bradshaw remains out with a foot injury, and backup Brandon Jacobs has not totaled more than 72 yards on the ground all season. Jacobs totaled just 21 yards on 12 carries last week against the Eagles, and the Saints are allowing 121.5 rushing yards per game.

New Orleans has not had much of a rushing attack lately, relying almost solely on Brees to get the team wins. In a 26-23 overtime victory at Atlanta before their bye, the Saints saw Pierre Thomas, Darren Sproles and Mark Ingram combine for only 41 yards on 16 carries while Brees threw for 322 yards and both touchdowns.

Don’t
