class="wp-caption-text">The San Francisco 49ers will be leaning heavily on running back Frank Gore Sunday

New York has won six of seven entering Sunday’s contest and come off a 24-20 win over the New England Patriots as nine-point road underdogs. The Giants have been led by quarterback Eli Manning for most of the season, as he’s registered a 121.7 passer rating in the fourth quarter, which leads all NFL signal-callers. The team’s passing game ranks sixth in the league in averaging 282.9 yards per game, but the rushing game has been a miss, gaining just 88.8 yards a contest. New York is 2-7 ATS in November the last two-plus seasons, while the ‘over’ is 5-4 in those contests.

The Giants can get after opposing quarterbacks with the best of them, but must control San Francisco’s rushing attack, giving up 127.1 yards per game on the ground. New York has lost the battle on the ground in five of the last six games. Overall, the squad has to be happy with its 6-2 record, sitting atop the NFC East division. “I think confidence is always there,” commented Giants quarterback Eli Manning. “I think you have to have confidence in yourself and your team.”

San Francisco comes in winners of six straight games and picked up a 19-11 win as four-point road favorites last week in Washington. The 49ers have won the statistical battle in the last four contests after getting out-gained in the first four games of the 2011 campaign. Perhaps the team might be looking ahead at closing out the division, as it will face Seattle and Arizona in the two weeks following this NFC showdown. San Francisco is 7-0-1 ATS on the year and the ‘under’ is 21-18 in the last two-plus seasons.

The 49ers rushing defense is limiting opponents to just 70.8 yards per game, which has been a recipe for success when being able to run the football offensively. San Francisco is one of the league leader’s in gaining 137.6 yards per game on the ground, led by veteran running back Frank Gore, who is just 148 yards away from the franchise record for career rushing yards. First-year head coach Jim Harbaugh has certainly changed the culture in the locker room, helping quarterback Alex Smith along the way. The former No. 1 pick comes in with a 106.7 passer rating in the fourth quarter.

Bettors will likely back the 49ers due to their 5-0 ATS record as a favorite of 3.5 to 10 points, while the Giants are 17-36-2 ATS in November.

Don’t miss out on a winning season and let the NFL handicappers at Maddux Sports line your pockets with cash. Long term
