id="caption-attachment-3920" class="wp-caption-text">Oklahoma State Cowboys have won eight consecutive road games

Oklahoma State has had the best of this series in winning three of the last four meetings, including a 33-17 win as 6.5-point home favorites last year. The Cowboys have the second-longest road winning streak in the nation, looking to win its ninth consecutive contest away from Stillwater. “You always have to be encouraged about winning on the road in this league,” stated Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy. “They’re just not giving them away.” Offensively, the team is gaining 551.2 yards a game, but that’s not much more than Missouri (496.2). Oklahoma State is 13-5 ATS versus Big 12 Conference opponents.

The Cowboys are in for a fight this weekend, as the team was held to 351 yards of total offense in last year’s matchup. Oklahoma State is still 8-2 against Missouri when the team enters the rivalry as a ranked team. Forcing turnovers is definitely going to be key, with the team ranking third nationally with 20 turnovers forced in six games. Oklahoma State is second in the country in scoring at 49.17 points per game, while quarterback Brandon Weeden ranks sixth nationally in passing yards per game at 349.7.

Missouri is 3-3 on the season and has managed to out-gain every opponent this year outside of Oklahoma, losing that statistical battle by just 60 yards. The Tigers have the necessary tools to slow down the Cowboys potent offense, ranking 29th overall nationally in total defense. “They really have a lot of good players. That’s why they are undefeated,” commented Tigers coach Gary Pinkel. “Our place will be rocking on Saturday.” The team is coming off an impressive 52-17 win over the Iowa State Cyclones as 17-point home favorites, finishing with triple-digit margins in both passing and running. Missouri is 9-10 ATS versus conference rivals.

The Tigers will be pleased with watching film of the Longhorns having success on the ground against the Cowboys last week, coming in ranking 14th nationally in rushing, averaging 236.5 yards per game. Missouri is actually one of only eight schools in the nation to rank among the top 30 in both total offense and total defense. Those other seven schools are a combined 45-4 heading into this week. Hosting tonight’s contest gives the program a definite advantage, winning 10 consecutive games at Memorial Stadium. Seven of the last nine games in this series have been decided by seven points or less.

Bettors will likely back the Tigers due to their 6-2 ATS mark at home, while the Cowboys are just 75-72 ATS versus conference opponents.

Don’t miss out on a winning season and let the college football handicappers at Maddux Sports line
