id="caption-attachment-3959" class="wp-caption-text">The Hawaii Warriors are road favorites against the San Jose State Spartans Friday night

Hawaii is set to play its fourth road game of the season and is coming into this prime-time event off a bye week. The Warriors opened conference play with a 44-26 win over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs as 4.5-point road underdogs on Oct. 1, while going over the posted total of 58. The last five games at Spartan Stadium have been decided by a touchdown or less, with the two most recent events going to overtime. “We’ve always won over there, but they have been just battles,” commented Warriors coach Greg McMackin. Hawaii is 11-3 ATS as a favorite and the ‘under’ is 7-6 in those contests.

The Warriors are led by quarterback Bryant Moniz, who ranks ninth nationally in total offense. He has tallied a losing 3-6 record when playing on national television, but has thrown for 2,454 yards and 15 touchdowns in those contests. Hawaii has been a solid program during the month of October under McMackin, tallying a perfect 5-0 mark last year, while going 9-5 during the month since the 2008 campaign. It’s important to note that the program has won 11 of its last 12 WAC games dating back to 2009.

San Jose State is coming off a 29-16 loss to the BYU Cougars as 14.5-point road underdogs, but came away with spread victories in both games of a two-game road trip. Quarterback Matt Faulkner played well in the loss, completing 25-of-35 passes for 255 yards. His main target in the contest was Noel Grisby, who caught a career-high 11 passes for 88 yards. He is fourth in the WAC in averaging 6.5 catches per game, while seventh in averaging 74.4 receiving yards a contest. San Jose State is 10-19 ATS over the last two-plus seasons and 4-5 ATS in October over that span.

In the last four games these two teams have played inside Spartan Stadium, each one has been decided by a touchdown or less. San Jose State will be welcoming back former head coach Dick Tomey, who is now the special teams coordinator for tonight’s opponent. Of the 2011 Spartans, 44 played underneath him, which could be an advantage for the visitor tonight.

Bettors will likely back the Warriors due to their 7-0 ATS mark in October, while the Spartans are 5-18 ATS versus conference opponents.

Don’t miss out on a winning season and let the college football handicappers at Maddux Sports line your pockets with cash. Long term packages are available now!

Hawaii Warriors at San Jose State Spartans
