id="caption-attachment-3920" class="wp-caption-text">The Oklahoma State Cowboys are overwhelming favorites Saturday against the Kansas Jayhawks

Kansas will be aiming to break a two-game losing streak and will be set to play its Big 12 Conference road opener. The Jayhawks have been out-gained by 458 yards in losses to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (66-24) and Texas Tech Red Raiders (45-34). The program has lost nine straight league road games, but one coach isn’t taking them for granted. “I thought they had every chance to win,” commented Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy. “We need to stay focused on the task at hand.” Kansas can certainly score, but its defense has allowed an average of 51 points over the last three games. The team is 1-8 ATS in October contests.

The Jayhawks will be taking on the Cowboys for the 63rd time and the series is tied at 29-29-3, including the team’s 14-12-2 mark in Stillwater. Kansas is 3-12 in Big 12 road openers, dropping last year’s game to the Baylor Bears by a 55-7 score. Quarterback Jordan Webb has been solid in completing 55-of-81 passes on the season for 814 yards and nine touchdowns. He’s been protected well by the offensive line, getting sacked just six times in four games.

Oklahoma State is coming off a bye week after tallying a 30-29 come-from-behind win over the Texas A&M Aggies as 4.5-point road underdogs. The Cowboys rank third nationally in total offense, averaging 571.5 yards per game, which is led by the passing of quarterback Brandon Weeden. The team should have no problem moving its record to 5-0 due to winning six of the last seven meetings in this series, including a 48-14 win in Lawrence as 24-point favorites. Oklahoma State is 16-6 ATS as a favorite, but an even 8-8 ATS when playing at home.

The Cowboys will be playing this game as one of the 15 undefeated schools nationally, coming off their first road win over a top 10 opponent since 2008. Forcing turnovers has been a key to the progression of the program, as the team has forced 13 thus far in 2011, which ranks seventh nationally. Weeden is a special player under center in throwing for at least 360 yards in every game this season. He has at least two touchdown passes in 15 of his 17 starts. Wide receiver Justin Blackmon is his main target, catching 24 touchdown passes over the last 16 games.

Bettors will likely back the Jayhawks due to the road team being 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings, while the Cowboys are 16-17 ATS following a bye week.

Don’t miss out on a winning season and let the college football handicappers at Maddux Sports line your pockets with cash. Long term packages are available now!

Kansas Jayhawks at No. 6 Oklahoma State
