id="caption-attachment-4870" class="wp-caption-text">Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew will once again be the focal point of the offense

Tennessee is set to begin its season for the third time in five years against the Jacksonville Jaguars and comes off a 3-1 preseason that ended with a 32-9 road win over the New Orleans Saints. The Titans will be led by former offensive line coach Mike Munchak, who has taken over for the departed Jeff Fisher. “The beauty of the NFL is you can go from 6-10 like we did last year to winning it all, so why not us?” Munchak stated. The team got a main figure back in camp just in time for the regular-season opener, as running back Chris Johnson signed a four-year contract extension. Tennessee is 7-8 ATS as an underdog the last two years.

The Titans will rely heavily again on the athletic talents of Johnson in the backfield, as his 4.97 yards per carry average ranks seventh in NFL history. Tennessee will also have a veteran quarterback leading the offense, bringing in Matt Hasselbeck from Seattle to aid the development of first-round pick Jake Locker. Fans should witness one of the top stop units in the NFL, as the defense finished the preseason tops in the NFL in allowing just 10.5 points a game.

Jacksonville is certainly up against it to start the season in releasing last year’s starting quarterback before the season opener. David Garrard posted a 39-37 record during his time under center for longtime head coach Jack Del Rio, but the team will now move forward with Luke McCown and rookie Blaine Gabbert. The Jaguars finished the exhibition campaign with a 1-3 record and finished 8-8 during the 2010 campaign. Jacksonville is 14-18 ATS the last two seasons.

The Jaguars still have the ability to hand the ball off to Maurice Jones-Drew at tailback, but he’s showing signs of slowing down, rushing for 1,324 yards a season ago before suffering a knew injury that ended his season with two games remaining. On the other side of the field, Jacksonville hopes that offseason acquisitions can help a stop unit that allowed a franchise-high 419 points a season ago. It’s been a very even series between these two division rivals, splitting every year over the past five seasons, except for a sweep by the Titans in 2008.

Bettors will find that the Jaguars are a dominating 10-2 ATS in Week 1, while the Titans are 1-4 ATS as a road underdog.

Don’t miss out on a winning season and let the NFL handicappers at Maddux Sports line your pockets with cash. Long term packages are available
