The Air Force Falcons are looking to spring a minor upset Saturday in hosting the No. 25 TCU Horned Frogs<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

TCU nearly pulled out one of its most exciting victories to open a season in school history in dropping a 50-48 road contest to the Baylor Bears last week.\u00a0 The Horned Frogs defense surrendered an incredible 564 yards of total offense, a figure that is foreign to a program that led the nation in defense three consecutive years.\u00a0 \u201cI should have done it,\u201d commented Horned Frogs coach Gary Patterson about trying an onside kick after taking a 48-47 lead.\u00a0 \u201cWe thought we could stop them one more time.\u201d\u00a0 TCU has an opportunity to bounce back due to its 7-2-1 all-time record in this series.\u00a0 The team is also 16-0 SU and 11-5 ATS versus conference opponents.<\/p>\n

The Horned Frogs had several of their most dominating streaks snapped last week, including the nation\u2019s longest road winning streak and second-longest overall win streak.\u00a0 TCU has still won 27 of its last 29 games and is in rebuilding mode in playing six true freshman in the opener.\u00a0 Life without star quarterback Andy Dalton is going to turn out fine, as the fans gained a ton of respect for sophomore Casey Pachall in his first career start.\u00a0 It\u2019s uncertain if star running back Ed Wesley will play this week due to a shoulder injury that limited him against Baylor.<\/p>\n

Air Force expects this contest to be close throughout due to the last two meetings inside Falcon Stadium being decided by six points or less, as each team has walked away with a 20-17 victory.\u00a0 Head coach Troy Calhoun has done a masterful job of leading his alma mater, compiling a 21-11 record in his three years, including a 6-2 mark in Mountain West Conference home games.\u00a0 Air Force\u2019s current five-game winning streak is its best under Calhoun.\u00a0 Bettors will find that the program is 16-9 ATS over the last two-plus campaigns.<\/p>\n

The Falcons know that they must go through the Horned Frogs to win the conference championship, an opponent that hasn\u2019t lost such a contest since 2008.\u00a0 \u201cThere\u2019s no doubt this is at least a top 15 team in the country, when you look at the talent,\u201d Calhoun stated of TCU.\u00a0 \u201cThey have capable guys.\u201d\u00a0 Air Force has a veteran team and shut things down early last week against South Dakota.\u00a0 Quarterback Tim Jefferson is going to have to have the game of his life to spring the minor upset, as he threw two interceptions last week.\u00a0 He was held to 39 rushing yards and 47 passing yards in this series a year ago in Fort Worth.<\/p>\n

Bettors will likely back the Falcons due to their 4-1 ATS mark as a home underdogs, while the Horned Frogs are 1-4 ATS after gaining more than 450 total yards.<\/p>\n
