week of the 2011 college football season off and is now set to play four consecutive road games starting with this contest in Eugene, Oregon. The Wolfpack being life without star quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers, as he guided the program to an incredible 13-1 season last year. Longtime head coach Chris Ault will now rely on 23-year-old Tyler Lantrip to handle things under center. He will be one of 30 signal-callers across the nation to make his first career start in a season opener this year. Nevada is 4-7 ATS in non-conference action the last two years.

The Wolf Pack enter this contest on a seven-game wining streak, as the program has not lost since a 27-21 defeat at Hawaii on Oct. 16, 2010. Nevada does welcome back four All-WAC players to its roster. Ault has led the program to a 16-10 all-time record in season-opening games in his Hall of Fame career. Coming off such a great campaign, the WAC media still has respect for the team despite all of its losses, picking the Wolf Pack to finish third in the conference.

Oregon was handed a 40-27 loss in the season opener against the LSU Tigers inside Cowboys Stadium and head coach Chip Kelly knows he was beaten by a better team. “They played solid football,” Kelly stated after the game. “That’s a good defensive front. They did a really nice job.” The Ducks averaged 286.2 rushing yards per game in 2010, but was limited to just 95 yards on the ground last Saturday. Running back LaMichael James moved into first in the school’s career rushing list, but was held to just 54 yards. Oregon is 14-13 ATS in the last two-plus campaigns.

The Ducks are likely to bounce back due to their 16-game winning streak at Autzen Stadium and scoring at least 38 points in six consecutive home openers. Oregon is also 17-3 in its past 20 meetings against WAC opponents, with the only losses coming against Hawaii and Boise State (twice). Since 2000, the program has registered a 29-6 record in regular season games against non-conference opponents. Kelly has been on campus four years, two as an offensive coordinator, with the Ducks posting a 23-3 record at home and averaging 45.2 points in those contests.

Bettors will likely side with the Ducks due to their 9-4 ATS mark at home, while the Wolf Pack are 5-9 ATS as underdogs of 21.5 to 31 points.

Don’t miss out on a
