{"id":16644,"date":"2011-07-26T09:35:23","date_gmt":"2011-07-26T14:35:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.madduxsports.com\/blog\/?p=16644"},"modified":"2011-07-26T09:35:23","modified_gmt":"2011-07-26T14:35:23","slug":"runs-a-plenty-in-arlington-minnesota-twins-vs-texas-rangers-mlb-betting-preview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.madduxsports.com\/blog\/runs-a-plenty-in-arlington-minnesota-twins-vs-texas-rangers-mlb-betting-preview-16644\/","title":{"rendered":"Runs a Plenty in Arlington:  Minnesota Twins vs Texas Rangers MLB Betting Preview"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Minnesota Twins and Texas Rangers will play the second game of a four-game set Tuesday night at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minnesota Twins at Texas Rangers<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4954\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4954\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.madduxsports.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/hamilton-cruz-rangers-high-5-29.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4954\" src=\"https:\/\/www.madduxsports.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/hamilton-cruz-rangers-high-5-29-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.madduxsports.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/hamilton-cruz-rangers-high-5-29-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.madduxsports.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/hamilton-cruz-rangers-high-5-29.jpg 495w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4954\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Texas Rangers are averaging 8.2 runs in their last 11 games in Arlington<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Minnesota endured its worst loss in manager Ron Gardenhire\u2019s tenure last night, dropping a 20-6 contest to Texas at the Ballpark in Arlington.\u00a0 \u201cIt was an ugly night for us,\u201d Gardenhire commented.\u00a0 \u201cProbably the worst I\u2019ve had here as manager.\u201d\u00a0 The Twins are now an even 9-9 versus AL West competition, including a 3-2 mark versus the Rangers.\u00a0 Offensively, the team is needing catcher Joe Mauer to break out of a 1 for 16 slump over the last four games, but it\u2019s not likely to occur tonight.\u00a0 Mauer has collected just one hit in 19 career at-bats versus the Rangers scheduled starter.\u00a0 Minnesota is 16-14 versus left-handed starters this year and 20-23 when facing winning opposition.<\/p>\n<p>Twins starting pitcher Carl Pavano is 6-7 with a 4.24 ERA in 20 starts this season and is coming off a 6-2 home loss to the Tigers.\u00a0 He allowed five runs and nine hits over six innings in that particular outing.\u00a0 Pavano will be toeing the rubber on the road for the 12th time this year, bringing in a 3-5 mark and 5.07 ERA, as opponents are hitting .296 against him.\u00a0 The 35-year-old is an even 1-1 with a 4.23 ERA in four starts this month, serving up four home runs in 27 2\/3 innings.\u00a0 In six career starts versus the Rangers, he has posted a losing 2-3 record and 6.62 ERA, including an 0-2 mark and 12.46 ERA in three outings at Rangers Ballpark.<\/p>\n<p>Texas is one of the hottest teams in baseball by winning 15 of its last 18 games and compiled 22 hits last night, the most by an AL team this season.\u00a0 It was a surprising result considering the Rangers had lost seven of their last eight games against the Twins.\u00a0 Not much has gone wrong for the club in front of the home faithful, especially for an offense that is batting .352 and average 8.2 runs in the last 11 games in Arlington.\u00a0 That\u2019s been a common theme with the Rangers leading the majors in July in average, hits and runs.\u00a0 Texas is a dominating 12-4 versus losing opponents during the second half of the season and 41-29 against right-handed starters.<\/p>\n<p>Rangers starting pitcher C.J.
