White Sox starting pitcher Gavin Floyd is 6-7 with a 4.31 ERA in 15 appearances (14 starts) this season and is looking to snap a two-game losing streak.\u00a0 Over those two outings, he has allowed 10 runs and 16 hits over 13 innings, while the offense has provided him with just four runs of support.\u00a0 The right-hander will be taking the mound on the road for the 10th time (ninth start), producing an even 4-4 mark and 3.70 ERA.\u00a0 In two career outings versus the Rockies, Floyd is 0-1 with a 9.31 ERA.<\/p>\n

Colorado dropped a season high-tying six games behind in the National League West division after falling 7-3 to the Cubs Monday afternoon at Wrigley Field.\u00a0 The Rockies have been scuffling at the plate, hitting .214 over the last five games.\u00a0 All six of the club\u2019s hits came from the first four hitters yesterday, which was the exact opposite in Sunday\u2019s game that saw all seven hits come from the six through nine spots.\u00a0 \u201cThere\u2019s a balance there somewhere and obviously at some point, we\u2019re going to reach that,\u201d said Rockies manager Jim Tracy.\u00a0 Colorado is 5-4 during interleague action this season and 25-14 over the last three years.<\/p>\n

Rockies starting pitcher Jason Hammel has won once in his last 10 starts and has posted a 7.30 ERA in his past two outings.\u00a0 Colorado\u2019s offense has had trouble supporting the right-hander this season, scoring three-runs-or-less in 10 of his outings.\u00a0 The former AL pitcher is 5-2 with a 4.17 ERA in eight interleague starts as a member of the club.\u00a0 In five previous appearances (one starts) against the White Sox, Hammel is 0-1 with a 4.63 ERA.<\/p>\n
