The Los Angeles Angels are 10-3 in their last 13 games at Dodger Stadium after tallying an impressive 8-3 win Saturday.\u00a0 The Angels have climbed to .500 for the first time since June 4, winning nine of their past 13 contests overall.\u00a0 Offensively, the club has been receiving contributions from outfielder Vernon Wells, who is batting .318 with two home runs and six RBIs over the last six games.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s a lot better coming to the ballpark knowing you can help the team,\u201d Wells commented.\u00a0 \u201cGuys are having a blast, playing good baseball.\u201d\u00a0 Los Angeles continues to enjoy interleague action, posting an 8-3 mark this year, while leading the majors with a 126-82 record since 2000.<\/p>\n

Angels starting pitcher Jered Weaver is 9-4 with a 2.01 ERA in 16 starts this season and earned his third straight victory last time out.\u00a0 He came away with a 2-1 road victory over the Marlins in that particular outing, giving up just a single run and five hits over seven frames.\u00a0 The right-hander has tossed seven consecutive quality starts and leads the American League with a 1.88 road ERA.\u00a0 Weaver is making his eight career start versus the Dodgers and owns a 2-1 record and 1.61 ERA in four lifetime outings at Dodger Stadium.<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles Dodgers haven\u2019t picked up a winning record against the American League since the 2004 season and currently stands at 3-5 in interleague play.\u00a0 \u201cI don\u2019t like the way it\u2019s going, that\u2019s for sure,\u201d Dodgers manager Don Mattingly stated.\u00a0 The Dodgers have lost three in a row, which happens to be their seventh streak of at least three losses this season.\u00a0 Over its six-game losing streak to the Angels, the club has been outscored 44-19.\u00a0 Despite the struggles, first baseman James Loney continues to provide offense, batting .436 over his last 14 games.\u00a0 Los Angeles is 11-14 in day games this season.<\/p>\n

Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw is 7-3 with a 3.01 ERA in 16 starts this season and is coming off one of his best starts of his career.\u00a0 The left-hander captured a dominating 4-0 home shutout of the Tigers, scattering two hits and striking out a season-high-tying 11 strikeouts.\u00a0 Kershaw has been brilliant in nine home outings, bringing in a 5-1 mark and 2.10 ERA, as opponents are hitting .181 against him.\u00a0 He is an even 1-1 with a 2.89 ERA in three career starts versus the Angels.<\/p>\n
