Giants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Colorado Rockies (26-29) AT San Francisco Giants (31-25)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>June 3rd, 2011 at 10:15 PM EST<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Opening Moneyline:\u00a0 SF -145, COL +125<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Current Moneyline:\u00a0 SF -125, COL +104<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Opening Total:\u00a0 7<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Current Total:\u00a0 7<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SP:\u00a0 COL- Juan Nicasio; SF- Matt Cain<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15521\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15521\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-15521\" src=\"https:\/\/www.madduxsports.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Aubrey-Huff-giants-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.madduxsports.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Aubrey-Huff-giants-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.madduxsports.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Aubrey-Huff-giants.jpg 495w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15521\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Aubrey Huff seems to be breaking out of his season-long funk<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Matt Cain has been pitching well, but getting run support has been a problem for Cain, who has a losing record of 3-4 despite a respectable 3.88 ERA.\u00a0 What&#8217;s more, in his last two starts he has received no runs at all.\u00a0 As we know, it&#8217;s impossible to win a game without any run support.\u00a0 Against the Rockies, Cain is 2-0 with a 1.57 ERA in three career home starts and the Giants are 5-3 in the season series, and they swept the Rockies at AT&amp;T Park May 6-8.<\/p>\n<p>The Rockies are hoping to rebound after a terrible month of May, in which they won only 8 of 29 games and went from 18-8 to being three games under .500.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s a new month, a new start for us.\u201d left fielder Carlos Gonzalez said.\u00a0 Moreover, the Rockies have dropped 11 of 14 on the road and are 1-2 in their current 9 game3 trip which will conclude with 3 games against the horribly struggling Padres.<\/p>\n<p>Juan Nicasio will take the mound for the Rockies, after having a very impressive major league debut.\u00a0 He gave up only one run (unearned) and 6 hits in 7 innings and recorded the win.\u00a0 He is considered one of the Rockies top pitching prospects.\u00a0 He posted a 5.30 strike out to walk ratio over the last two seasons in the minors due to his strong arm and outstanding pitch control.\u00a0 According to Baseball Prospectus, he was projected to be no more than a &#8220;back-end starter&#8221; at the major league level, but his debut provided hope otherwise.\u00a0 His PECOTA projection calls for a 9-11 record with a 5.27 ERA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m excited because it\u2019s my second start in the big leagues, but I\u2019m going to just try to make my pitches,\u201d Nicasio said through an interpreter. \u201cI\u2019m not worried about what team I\u2019m pitching against, just what I need to do. I\u2019m going to try to make my pitch down in the zone.
