The OVC tournament championship begins play tonight with all eight teams seeing first round action. For a better picture of how the field is set up check out the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Bracket<\/a> from Maddux Sports. 2007 March Madness<\/a> starts with smaller conference tournaments like the OVC tournament making college basketball and the month of March the most exciting time of the year.<\/p>\n

The first 4 games of the tourney played today are as follows:<\/p>\n

8 Seed Tennessee State visits 1 Seed Austin Peay
\n5 Seed Samford visits 4 Seed Murray State
\n7 Seed Morehead State visits 2 Seed Eastern Kentucky
\n6 Seed SE Missouri State visits 3 Seed Tennessee Tech<\/p>\n

The current point spreads from CRIS sportsbook<\/a> for today’s games.<\/p>\n

Austin Peay -10.5 over Tenn State
\nMurray State State -5.5 over Samford
\nEastern Kentucky -8 over Morehead State
\nTennessee Tech -11 over SE Missouri State<\/p>\n

The first round of the tournament will be played at the higher seeded campus sites, a big advantage to the higher seeded schools. Of these first round matchups all four of the top seeds figure to advance with Samford the only real underdog hopeful with a decent chance to advance. After today’s games the tournament will switch venues to the Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville Tennessee starting on Friday. The championship game will than be played at 8:00 eastern time on Saturday televised on ESPN2.
