Utah is coming off back to back road loss to two bad teams in New Jersey and Washington, and things aren’t going to get any easier tonight against the Celtics who are an outstanding 20-3 at home in the TD Garden.\u00a0 NBA Oddsmakers set the line closer than one might expect given Utah’s recent struggles, and coach Jerry Sloan is anything but happy with the team’s effort over the last two games.\u00a0 \u201cWe look like we were lacking effort and our energy doesn\u2019t look good to me, even more so in the last couple of games,\u201d Sloan said. \u201cJust doesn\u2019t seem like great enthusiasm to play.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paul Millsap vs. Kevin Garnett<\/strong><\/p>\n

Millsap has quietly emerged as one of the top power forwards in the league but is still a few notches away from being an all-star and he’ll be facing perennial all-star Kevin Garnett tonight, whose defense should slow down Millsap.\u00a0 Millsap is averaging 17.2 points per game and shoots an exceptional 53% from the floor.\u00a0 He’s also an effective defender, averaging nearly a block a game and 1.4 steals.\u00a0 Garnett isn’t quite the offensive player he once was, but he’s still capable of big games and it will be up to Millsap to prevent that from happening.\u00a0 This matchup, along with the point guard matchup, will be crucial in determining the outcome of tonight’s game.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
