Washington enters tonight’s game ranked 17th in the nation and they sport a perfect 4-0 conference record in the Pacific-10 conference.\u00a0 Despite the feel good nature of that, there is currently an investigation in regards to one of their atheletes, but coach Lorenzo Romar is keeping mum on the topic for the most part.<\/p>\n

“It’s something that is ongoing and hopefully you talk with your team and you have a relationship with your team enough when something happens you’re prepared somewhat to deal with it.\u00a0 We haven’t covered everything. There are some situations that arise in sports and family situations that you just hadn’t happened to you before, for the first time and you have to deal with that,” Romar said.<\/p>\n

Aside from the scandal, tonight’s game between Stanford won’t be an easy one.\u00a0\u00a0 Stanford has gone 7-0 at home and has limited opponents to only 53.7 points.\u00a0 That puts the total in question if they play such stellar defense.\u00a0 Can they slow down the Huskies?<\/p>\n

Some betting trends:<\/p>\n

Washington is 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 road games and 2-3-1 ATS in their last 6 road games.\u00a0 They are 9-4 SU in their last 13 games on the road and 2-4 SU in their last 6 on the road.\u00a0 The total has gone UNDER in 5 of their last 5 on the road and they are 2-14 SU In their last 16 road games against Stanford.<\/p>\n

Stanford is 6-3 SU In their last 9 games and 4-1 SU in their last 5 home games.\u00a0 They are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 against the Huskies and 1-4 ATS at home against them.<\/p>\n

Washington is led by 5’9″ junior point guard Isaiah Thomas who is averaging 16 points per game and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 36.4% from downtown.\u00a0 He has scored in double figures in all but one Husky game and has scored 20 or more 3 times already.\u00a0 In the blowout victory over Oregon State he shot 4 of 9 from three but actually 1 of 4 on his two point shots, so Stanford will be wise to run him off the line and make him rely on his mid-range game.\u00a0 Matthew Bryan-Amaning is a force down low for the Huskies.\u00a0 The 6’9″ senior is second on the team in scoring with 15.3 points per game and also averages 7.5 rebounds per game and over a block per night.\u00a0 He’ll patrol the paint and try to keep the Cardinals from getting too many easy looks around the basket.<\/p>\n

Stanford is led by 6’4″ junior guard Jeremy Green, who is putting up 15.9 points per game and shooting a blistering 43.2% from three.\u00a0 The last two games, however, against Arizona and Arizona State he has shot a combined 2 of 10, so he will have to remedy his stroke for Stanford to pull off the upset tonight.<\/p>\n

Given their outstanding track record at home, Stanford is a good bet to cover the spread, especially give the fact that the Huskies ar e 2-3-1 ATS to begin with.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
