{"id":12232,"date":"2011-01-06T00:34:00","date_gmt":"2011-01-06T05:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.madduxsports.com\/blog\/?p=12232"},"modified":"2011-01-12T01:46:41","modified_gmt":"2011-01-12T06:46:41","slug":"sunday-nfc-wild-card-picks-eagles-vs-packers-game-predictions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.madduxsports.com\/blog\/sunday-nfc-wild-card-picks-eagles-vs-packers-game-predictions-12232\/","title":{"rendered":"Sunday NFC Wild Card Picks: Eagles Vs Packers Game Predictions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NFC Wild Card Playoffs<br \/>\nGreen Bay Packers (6) at Philadelphia Eagles (3), Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, PA<br \/>\nSunday, January 9, 2011, 4:30 pm EST, TV: FOX<br \/>\nOpening Line: Eagles -2.5<br \/>\nCurrent Line: Eagles -2.5<br \/>\nOpening Total: 46<br \/>\nCurrent Total: 46<br \/>\nMoney Line: Eagles -140 \/ Packers +120<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3938\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3938\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3938  \" src=\"https:\/\/www.madduxsports.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/aaron-rodgers-packers-towel-90102-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"Eagles Packers NFL Preview\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.madduxsports.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/aaron-rodgers-packers-towel-90102-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.madduxsports.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/aaron-rodgers-packers-towel-90102.jpg 495w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3938\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers is looking for his first career playoff win after beating Chicago last week<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The last time the Green Bay Packers (10-6) visited the Philadelphia Eagles (10-6), they lost starting running back Ryan Grant for the season to a knee injury.\u00a0 But the Packers still escaped Philly with a 27-20 in the season opener as a late rally by Michael Vick fell short.<\/p>\n<p>Vick had replaced injured starting quarterback Kevin Kolb for the Eagles (-2.5), and the rest is pretty much history.\u00a0 Kolb suffered a concussion against the Packers, giving Vick the opportunity he needed to win the job for the rest of the year.\u00a0 Vick threw for 175 yards and a touchdown while running for 103 more yards, but Green Bay\u2019s defense denied him in the end.<\/p>\n<p>Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers admitted that he did not have much of a game plan then for Vick, which obviously will not be the case this time around.\u00a0 Teams like the New York Giants, Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings have since provided Capers with enough of a blueprint to disrupt Vick and make him uncomfortable.<\/p>\n<p>Philadelphia ended up dropping its last two games of the regular season \u2013 both at home \u2013 after clinching the NFC East, including a 24-14 shocker against the Vikings that cost the team a shot at the #2 seed.\u00a0 Minnesota\u2019s defense gave Vick fits, picking him off once, forcing him to fumble twice and sacking him six times.\u00a0 Vick sustained a quad injury that kept him out of last week\u2019s 14-13 loss to Dallas and has claimed he will be back to 100 percent for this playoff game.<\/p>\n<p>Green Bay\u2019s defense is even better, led by Pro Bowlers Charles Woodson and Clay Matthews.\u00a0 The Packers ranked second in the NFL in points allowed, giving up just 15 per game.\u00a0 They also own one of the league\u2019s best secondaries featuring Woodson and Tramon Williams, who form arguably the best pair of cornerbacks.\u00a0 They helped hold opposing quarterbacks to just 194.2 passing yards per game and anchored a pass defense that ranked second with 24 interceptions.<\/p>\n<p>Quarterback Aaron Rodgers leads a one-dimensional offense for Green Bay that has missed Grant ever since he went down in the first game.\u00a0 Rodgers is still searching for his first career playoff win after nearly rallying his team back last year at Arizona in an eventual 51-45 overtime loss.\u00a0 He threw for a career-high 423 yards and four touchdowns with one interception and hopes to end a four-game road losing streak in the playoffs for the Pack.<\/p>\n<p>The Eagles have covered seven of the last 10 meetings with Green Bay, going 6-4 straight-up in those games.\u00a0 The UNDER has cashed in seven of the last eight meetings.<\/p>\n<p>Now that you have read this NFC wild card playoff betting preview featuring the Eagles &amp;
