id="caption-attachment-5044" class="wp-caption-text">The Oregon Ducks are a heavy favorite in the Civil War and just a win away from the BCS title game

Oregon has clinched at least a share of the Pac-10 Title with a 48-29 home victory over the Arizona Wildcats last week and now turns its focus to the BCS title game. “We’re looking at The Natty now, you know,” said cornerback Cliff Harris. “I’m glad that we’re Pac-10 champions, but I don’t know how to feel yet because it’s still a one game season.” The Ducks have one game standing in their way from playing for the national championship, which is the 114th Civil War against in-state rival Oregon State Beavers. The program has won two straight in the series and are 25-9-1 since the 1975 season. Oregon actually has a higher winning percentage against the Beavers in Corvallis (.573) than it does in Eugene (.519). The team is 6-5 ATS this season and currently favored by more than two touchdowns on the college football lines page.

The Ducks are looking to become the first Pac-10 team to go undefeated in conference play since the nine-game schedule went into effect in 2006. Oregon’s 11-game winning streak is tied for the longest in school history and the offense’s ability to score 555 points has set a school record. Head coach Chip Kelly has also had the luxury of having his team ahead in every game entering the fourth quarter this season. Oregon’s win over Arizona also made the Ducks 3-0 against teams in the top 25 this season and 7-2 against ranked opponents under his direction.

Oregon State concludes its 2010 regular season on Saturday and will look to avoid its first losing season since a 5-6 campaign in 2005. The Beavers also know the high stakes involved in this contest for their opponent and will look to end any dreams of the Ducks heading to the national title game. “They took two Rose Bowls away from us, so I’m ready to take something away from them,” said linebacker Dwight Roberson. “As a team, our heads are not down, we’re looking forward to playing them.” The team also understands it will miss a bowl game for only the second time in the past 10 years unless it proves victorious in the regular-season finale. Oregon State is 5-1 ATS as an underdog this season and 13-3 ATS over the last three campaigns.

The Beavers will be playing the No. 1 team for the first time since defeating then No. 1 USC on September 25, 2008 at Reser Stadium, 27-21. Oregon State is 2-6 all-time versus the top-ranked team in the nation at the time of the matchup. An important factor in this game and almost any game is turnovers, as the team is 34-8 when committing fewer turnovers than its opponent, while posting a 9-21 record when committing more. The five turnovers by the offense against Stanford doubled the season total by the Beavers.

Bettors will be interested in knowing that the Ducks are 20-6-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record, while the Beavers are 23-8-1 ATS in conference games.

Don’t miss out on a huge Saturday and let the college football handicappers at Maddux Sports go to work for you. Get in the game today!

Oregon Ducks at Oregon State Beavers Saturday, 12/4/10, 3:30 PM EDT, TV: ABC Opening Point Spread:
