id="caption-attachment-3998" class="wp-caption-text">Boise State is laying more than four touchdowns to a WAC rival on Friday night in front of a national audience

Fresno State is set to play a ranked team for a second consecutive week in making its final road trip of the season to take on the Boise State Broncos at Bronco Stadium. The Bulldogs are playing a ranked opponent in consecutive weeks for the second straight season, losing to Boise State 51-34 and at Cincinnati 28-20. The team has lost 12-straight games to ranked competition since beating Virginia in 2004. “Defense is the area where Boise State has pushed into the elite level,” said head coach Pat Hill. “Special teams, they’re a nightmare in preparation. Preparing for this team, there’s a lot that goes into it.” The Bulldogs have posted a 7-11 record in Friday night nationally-televised contests, with five of those losses coming at the hands of tonight’s opponent. Fresno State is 6-6 ATS as an underdog and the college football lines page has them receiving 30-plus points.

The Bulldogs are going to need a special game from running back Robbie Rouse in hopes of pulling off a monumental upset, as the sophomore has rushed for 769 yards and seven touchdowns over the last four games. “He’s doing a better job of being a one-cut runner instead of doing too much dancing,” said Hill. “I don’t like it when he dances.” he needs just 66 yards for 1,000 on the season, as the program has had a 1,000-yard rusher in 12 of the last 15 seasons. It may be tough sledding for the ground attack in going against a Boise State defense that gives up an FBS-low 2.2 yards per carry.

Boise State knows it has the opportunity to impress some voters on the Friday night stage, especially with the TCU Horned Frogs idle this week. “I always like the Friday games because you get to catch everybody else playing on Saturday,” said defensive back Brandyn Thompson. The Broncos are a dominating 32-2 in non-Saturday regular-season games, including a 7-1 mark versus the Bulldogs. Boise State also has won a school-record 23 straight games overall and can tie the school record for consecutive home wins (31) this week. The team has been dominant the entire season and is the only one in the nation that ranks in the top five in both total offense and total defense. Over the last three years, the squad is 5-1 ATS as a favorite of 21.5 to 31 points.

The Broncos have scored at least 33 points in every game this season and at least 42 points in six straight games. Boise State ranks in the top 10 in nearly every category except on the ground, coming in with the 16th best rushing attack at 214.3 yards per game. “Kellen’s been doing a great job with the deep ball and turning the ball over and giving those guys a chance,” said head coach Chris Petersen. Moore has 9,610 career passing yards and needs 210 to pass Ryan Dinwiddle as the school’s all-time leader. Tonight’s opponent could offer some resistance to the junior thrower, giving up just 193.9 passing yards per game, which ranks second in the WAC behind his own defense.

Bettors will find that the Bulldogs are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games, while the Broncos are 46-22-2 ATS at home.

The college football handicappers at Maddux Sports are fully prepped for a huge weekend and want you to be a part of it!

Fresno
