class="wp-caption-text">Tennessee RB Chris Johnson played a big role in last year's win over Miami

The Tennessee Titans (5-3) may be the latest team to gamble on wide receiver Randy Moss, but the Miami Dolphins (4-4) have also rolled the dice by replacing former starting quarterback Chad Henne with Moss’ former college quarterback in Chad Pennington. Moss and Pennington starred together at Marshall in the last 1990s, and both will be looking to prove themselves on Sunday when the favored Titans (-2) visit the Dolphins in a key AFC matchup.

Moss had a short second stay in Minnesota after getting dealt there from New England before the trade deadline, as the Vikings went 1-3 with him. Tennessee gladly put in a waiver claim for him and was the only team to do so despite the fact that he made only 13 catches for the Vikes and has just 22 in eight games overall this season, including the first four with the Pats. One of the main reasons for the acquisition is that Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt is still recovering from a hamstring injury, giving them a definite need for Moss.

Meanwhile, Miami is trying to jump-start its passing game and offense as a whole with the switch to Pennington. The Dolphins are ranked dead last in the AFC in scoring with 17.9 points per game while Tennessee leads the NFL with an average of 28. Miami wide receiver Brandon Marshall said on Thursday that his team will still make the playoffs no matter who is under center and thinks Pennington could spark an offensive turnaround. Marshall has scored only one touchdown this season despite being on pace for his fourth straight 100-catch campaign.

The Dolphins have alternated wins and losses in their last five games and have yet to win a home game in three attempts even though they were the victims of a controversial call in a 23-22 loss to Pittsburgh in Week 7. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger appeared to fumble away the ball at the goal line in the final minutes, but they kept possession and kicked the game-winning field goal. Their other two home losses came against AFC East rivals New York and New England and were decided by a combined 35 points.

The Titans are coming off their bye week and hopes to have quarterback Vince Young in the lineup after dealing with injuries the last few weeks. Young missed the team’s 37-19 rout of Philadelphia in Week 7 due to a sprained knee and ankle and re-aggravated the ankle in a 33-25 loss at San Diego the following game. If he does not play, veteran Kerry Collins will re-unite with Moss, who he teamed with in Oakland back in 2005 when they connected on seven touchdowns.

The OVER has cashed in four of Tennessee’s last five games, although this could be a lower-scoring game. The UNDER is 3-1 in Miami’s last four games and 4-1 in the last five meetings between the teams. The exception came last year when the Titans topped the Dolphins 27-24 a year ago behind running back Chris Johnson’s 159 rushing and receiving yards and three touchdown passes from Young. Henne also tossed three picks in the last meeting.

If you are betting this game, be sure to check out the winning NFL picks packages we
