Virginia Tech controls its fate in reaching the ACC title game and will try and take a big step toward that goal at North Carolina<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Virginia Tech controls its own destiny in reaching the Atlantic Coast Conference title game and will be looking to extend its winning streak to eight games for the first time in over five years against North Carolina on Saturday afternoon.\u00a0 \u201cWhere we started out, where we are right now and we control our own destiny right here, I\u2019m proud of them,\u201d said head coach Frank Beamer.\u00a0 The Hokies can actually wrap up a birth in the title game with a win in this game and some help from Georgia Tech winning at Miami.\u00a0 Since joining the league in 2004, Virginia Tech is a perfect 10-0 in ACC games played in the state of North Carolina.\u00a0 The team is 12-3 ATS as a road favorite of 3.5 to 7 points and the college football lines page is available for the best available number.<\/p>\n

Yates gives the team a shot at winning each week and threw for 439 yards and three touchdowns versus the Seminoles.\u00a0 The Tar Heels are 6-3 overall, 3-2 in the ACC and will now host two games in a row before finishing out conference play at Duke.\u00a0 A win on Saturday would also assure the program a winning record for the third consecutive season.\u00a0 Whatever happens over the next three weeks, the team is still bowl eligible for the third consecutive season, playing in the Meineke Car Care Bowl the last two campaigns.\u00a0 North Carolina is 6-2 ATS this year and hasn\u2019t been a home underdog of 3.5 to 7 points the last three years.<\/p>\n

The Tar Heels lead the conference with a 153.1 passer rating that\u2019s just ahead of the Hokies mark of 152.7.\u00a0 Yates pass efficiency of 153.4, ranks second in the league behind the man he will face tonight.\u00a0 Carolina is outscoring teams 113-59 in the second half of games this season, which includes a dominating 65-26 margin in the fourth quarter.\u00a0 Due to Taylor\u2019s efficiency rating, the stop unit will have a tough time forcing mistakes, even though its intercepted 52 passes since the start of the 2008 season.<\/p>\n

Bettors may play the Hokies due to their 36-15 ATS mark in conference games, while the Tar Heels are 5-0 ATS as a home underdog of 3.5 to 10 points.<\/p>\n
