After getting embarrassed in Green Bay, Jerry Jones finally dropped the ax on Wade Phillips. It feels like Brad Childress will soon be joining Phillips in the ranks of the unemployed. Problems are mounting in Minnesota, and once a head coach loses the respect of his players, it’s all over. One more misstep by Childress and he’s gone. And what about the Browns? They smoked the Pats at home.

Another unpredictable week of professional football is on its way. Make sure you check out the opening lines at our NFL betting lines page. Here’s a look at some upcoming games.

Minnesota (-1 ½) at Chicago – The troubled Vikings opened as 1 ½ point favorites at Chicago, though early action has brought the line down to a single point or a pick game. Minnesota managed to mount a late comeback against the Cardinals to erase a 14 point deficit and win in overtime. Brett Favre threw for a career high in passing yards. The Bears managed to sneak by the Bills in Buffalo. Chicago has struggled after getting out to a quick start, but they’re still in the thick of the NFC North.

Buffalo (-3) vs. Detroit – The Bills started as 3 point favorites against the Lions and the line has held steady. Buffalo is still searching for its first win of the season. They’ve had tough luck the past several weeks, but came up short each time. It’s odd to see a winless team in week 10 lined as a favorite. The Lions had the game won against the Jets, but in typical Detroit fashion, they found ways to lose. Somewhat surprisingly, the Lions have been one of the best teams against the spread this year.

Jets (-3 ½) at Cleveland – The Jets opened as 3 ½ point road favorites at Cleveland, though books have brought that down to 3 points. New York has struggled since coming out of their bye. They were shut out at home against Green Bay, and then needed a miracle comeback in Detroit to get by the Lions. They’ll be taking on a Browns team with a ton of confidence. Cleveland spanked New England, 34-14. Colt McCoy is looking like the future, and so is Peyton Hillis. The Browns defense is obviously underrated.

Giants (-13 ½) vs. Dallas – The Giants started as 13 ½ point favorites against Dallas, but the line has already been pushed up to 14 points at most sites. The G-Men stuck it to Seattle this past week. If given the opportunity, you have to imagine the Giants will embarrass the Cowboys. New York might be the best team in the NFC, though Atlanta and Philadelphia fans would give a passionate argument. Dallas fans, however, wouldn’t be involved in the conversation. The Cowboys and new head coach Jason Garrett will try to salvage the rest of the season. A win in New York would be huge, but is it even possible?

Philadelphia (-3) at Washington – The Eagles head to Washington D.C. for the Monday night game. Philadelphia opened as 3 point road favorites and the line hasn’t moved much. The Eagles are looking for revenge after the Redskins got the win in Philly. Michael Vick was injured in that game, and he’s just now getting back into rhythm. He and DeSean Jackson are a dynamic duo. The ‘Skins are coming off their bye, so they should be ready to go. You know Donovan McNabb will be. He can lead a sweep of the same team that let him go to a divisional rival. The more you think about it, that was definitely a slap in McNabb’s face.

How bad are the Cowboys?
