id="caption-attachment-4249" class="wp-caption-text">The Oakland Raiders have lost seven straight home games to the Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City has won seven consecutive games at Oakland and bring in the league’s top-ranked rushing attack. “To be a god team in this league and to eventually be a great team, you must win on the road,” said head coach Todd Haley. The Chiefs are off to their best start since 2003, but are just 1-2 away from Arrowhead Stadium. The team is averaging nearly nine points fewer on the road while giving up 9.5 more per game away from home. Experts expect the first quarter to be the difference in this contest due to the Chiefs giving up just 13 points in the opening frame. Over the history of this rivalry, these teams are 16-16-1 when playing at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. The squad is 8-5 ATS against division opponents and the NFL lines page has moved this game to a pick this afternoon.

The Chiefs seven straight wins at this venue have come by an average margin of 6.5 points and six were decided by a touchdown or less. Kansas City’s brilliant rushing game is leading the NFL with 1,333 yards combined, an average of 190.4 per game. On the other side, the defense has allowed just 675 yards, which is 96.4 per contest. That difference of 658 yards is more than 200 yards more than the next team, the New York Jets at 453 yards. Running back Dexter McCluster is expected to miss his second-straight game with a high ankle sprain, leaving most of today’s carries to Jamaal Charles.

Oakland enters November with a winning record for the first time since its 2002 Super Bowl run and many of the players are extremely excited. “It’s been a lot of fun,” said offensive linemen Robert Gallery. “We haven’t experienced this a whole lot in the past six, seven years around here.” The Raiders have won three consecutive games against AFC West opponents and will lean heavily on running back Darren McFadden, who averages 5.1 yards per carry in his career against the Chiefs. Oakland managed to score just 12.3 points per game in 2009, but enter today’s game scoring 26.5 per contest thus far in 2010. The team is 28-58 ATS in games where the line is +3 to -3.

The Raiders offense has become a power due to offensive coordinator Hue Jackson leading the team to the first consecutive 500-yard games in franchise history. Head coach Tom Cable is going to have to decide if Jason Campbell or Bruce Gradkowski will be the team’s starter down the stretch. “My main obligation is just to win and keep winning and try to play at a high level,” said Campbell. He has had his best back-to-back games in terms of passer rating the last two weeks.

Bettors will find the Chiefs being 7-0 ATS in their last seven meetings in Oakland, while the Raiders are 17-36 ATS in home games.

Maddux Sports’ NFL handicappers are releasing a 20-Unit NFL Game of the Year today
