Eight teams are left in the 2010 World Cup, and the South American nations have been dominating so far. While (usual) European powerhouses France and Italy made their exits in the group stage, four South American teams are still in the competition: Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay.
The Netherlands got their second win, but still haven’t shown the offensive firepower they are known for. They barely beat Japan 1-0. Cameroon is the first team to be eliminated from the World Cup after its loss to Denmark.
The US almost turned a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 win. Almost. Referee Koman Couilibaly disallowed Maurice Edu’s apparent game-winner for no obvious reason, and the US drew with Slovenia. The Yanks now have two points after two matches.

South Africa surprised in the opener and played solid soccer. They drew with Mexico and looked great in every aspect of the game. Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune made a couple of key saves and looked in control for the entire 90 minutes.
