France continued their disappointing performance Tuesday and lost to host South Africa. The Bafana Bafana had hopes of advancing after they took a 2-0 lead over France early, and Uruguay was leading Mexico 1-0.

Spain looks like the heavy favorite here, but the top of this group might prove more interesting than it seems at first glance. Chile will battle the Spaniards for first place in the group and their matchup should be a good one.
Despite defending champion Italy being part of Group F this is arguably the weakest group in the World Cup.
Italy has the best chances to advance from Group F as the winner, but Paraguay could challenge them for the top spot.
The Netherlands are the no-brainer here. The Oranje will most likely dominate the group and look to improve their weak track record at World Cups. They play one of the most electrifying soccer in the world, and are looking to finally capitalize on it.
Group D is going to be one of the more competitive groups in the tournament. With Germany looking to be the frontrunner, Serbia, Ghana, and Australia will all battle for second place to advance into the knockout stage.
All eyes will be on Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg, when the United States face off against England. The USA are trying to surprise, while England will try to avoid another embarrassing outing in international competition.
Group B has a clear-cut favorite in Argentina and a heavy favorite to come in second in Nigeria. Argentina has arguably the best player in the world at this time in Lionel Messi. The 5-foot-7 forward has excelled in club play with Barcelona, scoring 34 goals in 30 games in league competition. Messi will be called upon to carry the team, and he should be able to deliver.
