Switzerland shocked the soccer world and beat Spain 1-0 with a great defensive effort Wednes-day. The Spaniards seemed to try to play a little too cute, always going for the extra pass instead of looking for the shot. They had racked up 337 passes at halftime in a tournament were the pass total per game sat at 317. The Spanish finished with a total of 574

Every World Cup has a so-called Group of Death. And this is definitely it this year.
Brazil, Portugal, and Ivory Coast are all strong teams and will battle each other to advance. While Ivory Coast is the least likely out of the three to win it all, they have the best chance of any African team to end up World Champions. Portugal – if they are on their game – and Brazil are legitimate contenders for the Cup, so this should be a great group. North Korea will probably end up with zero points out of the matches against the big three.
