English Premier League Week 4 Odds & Picks

Chelsea takes on last place west ham united in what figures to be a blowout
After a two-week break, the Premiership gets going again this weekend with a full 3-day schedule. The weekend’s games begin Saturday with eight matches. We’ll preview the matches and give out the best picks for each one.

MANCHESTER UNITED (3rd) AT EVERTON (18th)
Goodison Park
Kickoff: 7:45 ET

Everton will be looking for their first win of the season on Saturday when they host Manchester United. Playing at home will help Everton, but they will still have a hard time keeping up with Manchester in this one. Manchester has had some trouble maintaining their form on the road, but with an extra week to prepare, Sir Alex Ferguson should have his team focused.

Bodog is giving ½ point in this one. Bettors should take Manchester at -½. Bodog and Bookmaker have the total at 2½. Bettors should look to take the under.

SUNDERLAND (10th) AT WIGAN ATHLETIC FC (17th)
DW Stadium
Kickoff: 10:00 ET

In a meeting between two teams that no one expects much from this season, both teams will be looking to take advantage and pick up a rare win. Bettors shouldn’t put too much stock in Sunderland’s shocking victory over Manchester City two weeks ago, as that was more due to a terrible performance by Manchester City than a great performance by Sunderland. Although Sunderland is the slightly better team here, it isn’t by much, and the fact that Wigan is playing at home could be enough to make up the difference.

Bodog and Bookmaker have the total at 2½. Take the under. The draw is also a solid bet. Bodog has the draw at +225.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (11th) AT WEST BROMWICH ALBION (16th)
The Hawthorns
Kickoff: 10:00 ET

Tottenham announced this past week that they will be without star striker Jermain Defoe for at least the six weeks. This will eventually be a serious problem for Tottenham, but not this week. Peter Crouch should provide more than enough on the attack to make up for Defoe’s absence, especially against lowly West Brom.

Bodog is giving ½ point in this match up. Definitely take Tottenham at -½ here. Bodog and Bookmaker have the total at 2½. Bettors should take the under here.

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS (7th) AT FULHAM (14th)
Craven Cottage
Kickoff: 10:00 ET

Wolverhampton has been a surprise early in the season with 5 points after 3 games, but they should eventually fall back towards the middle. That could begin this week on the road when they visit Fulham, who will be looking for their first win after three draws to begin their season. Bobby Zamora should have a big game, and Fulham should come out with their first win.

Bodog has Fulham at -½. Bettors should take Fulham here. Both Bodog and Bookmaker have the total at 2½. Look to take the over in this match.

CHELSEA (1st) AT WEST HAM UNITED (20th)
Boleyn Ground
Kickoff: 10:00 ET

Chelsea will be looking to continue the amazing beginning to their season this weekend, and they should face little resistance from last-place West Ham. Chelsea has scored 14 goals through their first three games, while West Ham has allowed 9 in that same span. Opposite ends of the table will meet in this one, and the final results should reflect that.

Bettors should take Chelsea at -1½, available at both Bodog and Bookmaker. Although Bodog and Bookmaker have the total at an even 3, the over has good value and has a real chance. Bettors should look at the over in this one.

BLACKPOOL (12th) AT NEWCASTLE UNITED (8th)
St. James Park
Kickoff: 10:00 ET

Newcastle’s 1-1-1 record is somewhat misleading, considering their one win was against Aston Villa, a team currently dealing with internal problems. Blackpool, on the other hand, has gotten off to a surprisingly good start in their first season back in England’s top division. Although surprising, their 1-1-1 record also seems well deserved. Blackpool could surprise a lot of people as the season goes on, beginning with another strong performance against Newcastle.

Bodog and Bookmaker are giving 1 in this match. Bettors should take Blackpool at +1 here. Bettors should also take the over 2½, available on Bookmaker at +450. The draw also has good value. Bodog has it at +300.

BLACKBURN ROVERS (15th) AT MANCHESTER CITY (9th)
City of Manchester Stadium
Kickoff: 10:00 ET

After a shocking loss to Sunderland, Manchester City will be looking to recover and try to prove that they are in a fact a serious championship contender. Playing at home against Blackburn will definitely help. Blackburn’s defense has been suspect, and this should exploited by an especially inspired Manchester City attack looking to redeem themselves in front of the home crowd.

Bettors should take Manchester City at -1½ on Bodog in this one. The over also has good value. Bodog has the over at -155.

BOLTON WANDERERS (5th) AT ARSENAL (2nd)
Emirates Stadium
Kickoff: 10:00 ET

Bolton has gotten off to a solid start this season, but will be facing their first real test this weekend as they visit Arsenal. This match should expose Bolton’s weaknesses, and Arsenal should win comfortably, especially playing at home. After an even start, expect Arsenal to impose their superiority and win this one going away.

Take Arsenal at -1½ in this match up, available on Bodog and Bookmaker.
