The Indianapolis Colts (0-1) knew it would be nearly impossible to duplicate last year’s 14-0 start, but they now face the unlikely scenario of starting the regular season 0-2 with a home loss to the New York Giants (1-0) on Sunday Night Football and are favored by 5 points on the NFL betting odds.  The Colts have taken a pedestrian approach to the preseason in recent years and looked like they were not ready to play their regular-season opener at Houston in falling to the Texans, 34-24.

The San Diego Chargers look to rebound against Jacksonville this Sunday afternoon. The Chargers dropped a tough game to the Chiefs in Kansas City last Monday night, despite outgaining KC almost 2 to 1. After getting down 21-7, the Chargers fought back and had a chance to tie the game. But late in the game they couldn’t convert on 4th and goal.

The St. Louis Rams (0-1) hope the promising debut of rookie Sam Bradford will translate to a victory in his first road game when they visit the Oakland Raiders (0-1) on Sunday.  The Rams are 3-point underdogs on the pro football lines against the Raiders but liked what they saw for the most part from Bradford, who threw for 253 yards and his first career touchdown in a 17-13 home loss to Arizona last week.
