Position Needs for Saint Louis
Defensive End: St. Louis very well and could use 2 draft picks on defensive ends. Leonard Little racked up 13 sacks and 6 forced fumbles in 2006, but the best part was he was consistently being double teamed. Imagine what he can do for a young force on the outside drawing single coverage.
Defensive Tackle: The Rams had the second worst run defense in the league last year. Jimmy Kennedy looked clueless and was playing out of position which could be the main cause of the leaky run D. Grabbing a nose tackle could move Kennedy back to his normal position and taking on double teams creating play making opportunities for the linebackers.
Wide Receiver: Issac Bruce is 35 and Torry Holt is 31. Neither guy is a spring chicken. A big target to use in the red zone and third down conversions could revitalize Bulger and company.
Draft Outlook for the Saint Louis Rams
The biggest news at the time of publish isn't the Rams draft prospects, but the chance of Ricky Williams maybe moving into a Saint Louis uniform. Rams head coach Scott Linehan was the Dolphins' offensive coordinator when Ricky Williams played in Miami in the 2005 season after his abrupt retirement. Now that Williams has applied for reinstatement Linehan has said might be interested in adding him to the Rams roster which would give Davis a chance to take some of the load off his shoulders.
In the first round the Rams will go with defensive line help. Clemson's Gaines Adams and Louisville's Amobi Okoye would be dream picks, but Saint Louis would have to move up to grab them. More likely Alan Branch from Michigan, Nebraska's Adam Carriker and Florida's Jarvis Moss will be on the Rams radar and one of them should be dawning a uniform come August. Second and 3rd round picks should also be focused on the D-Line and maybe some help on the O-Line as well.
In the later rounds wide outs like David Clowney from Virginia Tech, Roy Hall from Ohio State, and the Fighting Irish's Rhema McKnight would make solid 4th round selections.
