New York Giants Mock Draft Picks

Position Needs for New York

Linebacker: Kawika Mitchell signed from the Chiefs will provide some decent depth but after the loss of LaVar Arrington and Carlos Emmons more well qualified bodies are needed.

Cornerback: Correy Webster has a horrendous year and Sam Madison is getting old. RW McQuarters is not the right fit for man to man coverage. Should be some good corners available right where the Giants are picking.

Running Back: Tiki Barber retired and although Brandon Jacobs should do fine as a feature back, finding a change of pace speed back would compliment the Giants power rushing attack.

Draft Outlook for the New York Giants

The Giants have not had much luck drafting linebackers or cornerback's in the last 5 years and sure enough those 2 positions are at the top of New York's wish list for the 2007 draft.

In the first round cornerback figures to be the spot. With only 2 first round credible running backs (Adrian Peterson & Marshawn Lynch) both should be off the board by the time the Giants get to draft. LB Paul Posluszny from Penn State is a bit of reach at 20 and Florida States Lawrence Timmons and Stud Patrick Willis from Mississippi figure to be gone as well.

This leaves the cornerback position. The trio of Aaron Ross from Texas, Chris Houston from Arkansas, and Darrelle Revis (if he slips down) are the likely players the Giants could acquire, with the linebacker and running back holes to be filled in rounds 2&3.
