2005 NBA Predictions
Here they come charging down the court, throwing up threes, hitting
from the paint, pounding the boards, and slam dunking with authority.
The NBA season is about to fast break it’s way into arenas,
onto TV sets, and across the web and sports’ pages.
This season promises to be retro in a few ways. On the court more
clubs are looking to retool and reinvigorate their defenses and
emphasize teamwork. Off the court there’s a new dress code
for players—casual business wear. The league wants to create
a new image (or recapture its old image).
The players’ union agreed to the dress code, which is designed to illustrate more conservative and business-like behavior. Incidents involving controversial off court and on court behavior have alarmed and alienated some fans—how do you explain last season’s brawl between some Indiana players and spectators to your kids?
As far as the clubs are concerned the haves still seem to have and the have nots are pretty much still have nots. But this doesn’t mean there won’t be some surprises this season. Also most divisions will be quiet competitive.
