Denver Broncos Mock Draft Picks

Position Needs for Denver

Defensive End: The once stellar defensive line hasn't recovered since the loss of Bert Berry and Reggie Hayward. Pressuring the QB was a major liability for the Broncos, grabbing a young stud could bolster the defense to what it once was in 07.

Safety: John Lynch doesn't have many more years left and is limited in coverage. His future replacement should be selected in the second or third rounds.

Wide Receiver: Denver has a weapon in Javon Walker and did acquire Brandon Stokley from the Colts, but the could spend a pick and look at the future replacement for Rod Smith in the 07 draft.

Draft Outlook for the Denver Broncos

The Broncos were another team that had a busy offseason. Denver ripped off Detroit acquiring a great cornerback in Dre' Bly in exchange for a system running back in Tatum Bell. To replace Bell they signed Travis Henry who was released from Tennessee and figures to flourish behind the Broncos great O-Line. Denver also signed free agent tight end Daniel Graham from New England and filled a hole at the defensive tackle position picking up Alvin McKinley from Cleveland.

The Broncos most pressing need is at the defensive end position. Pressuring the opposing teams quarterback is something the Broncos need to do a better job of in 2007, and Florida Gators defensive end Jarvis Moss qualifies as a potential sack artist and good fit for Denver at 21.

With the rest of the draft picks the Broncos will be looking at the future. Example would be looking at a future replacement at the safety position for the aging John Lynch and a young project at the wide out position to hopefully take over for veteran Rod Smith.
