Position Needs for Dallas
Wide Receiver: You never know when Terrell Owens is going to blow up and Terry Glenn is starting to get older. Getting some youth at WR in the Cowboys system seems logical.
Cornerback: The secondary was the Cowboys achilles heel. Anthony Henry and Terrance Newman struggled. They gave up way too many big plays, and improvements can be made.
Outside Linebacker: This is most likely a day 2 issue, but adding another pass rushing type linebacker that can wreak havoc like DeMarcus Ware will improve Dallas' defense.
Draft Outlook for the Dallas Cowboys
There is no glaring needs for Dallas coming into the draft. The Cowboys in the offseason plugged their biggest roster holes with a combination of modest and mammoth signings. The picked up OT Leonard Davis (Arizona) and resigned right tackle Marc Colombo, taking care of the offensive line issues. They also freed up SS Roy Williams by signing free safety Ken Hamlin from the Seahawks. Now Dallas can draft on taste, rather than need.
Look for the Cowboys to take the best available player at number 22. Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee, Chris Houston, CB, Arkansas, Patrick Willis, LB, Ole Miss, Darrelle Revis, CB, Pittsburgh and Steve Smith, WR, USC are all good selections falling into Dallas strike zone.
