Some interesting 2007 SEC Tournament News, at the time of publish the Florida Gators are looking once again like the dominant team of the SEC. Last year the Gators cut down the nets of the 2006 NCAA tournament defeating UCLA in the championship game. In 2007 the Gators have not missed a beat, as they continued to pummel every SEC opponent on their schedule.
Maybe an even bigger story going into the 2007 SEC basketball tournament is the disappointment of the LSU Tigers. In 2006 the Tigers shot through the NCAA tournament field on the shoulders of Glen "Big Baby" Davis all the way to the final four. Knocking off #1 Seed Duke and #2 Seed Texas, the sky was the limit for LSU this season. A consensus preseason lock and odds on favorite to make it back to the 2007 NCAA basketball tournament, now looks vague at best. The Tigers only shot at getting into postseason play and a chance back to the final four will be winning the 2007 SEC tournament championship a road that will most likely be going through the best and most complete team in the nation, Florida.
Will Florida win their 3rd straight SEC tournament title? Will LSU regain the magic from the 2006 season and put a run together?
