Participants/Overview: The 2007 Mid-American Conference Tournament field includes all twelve teams from the conference. The schools will be seeded according to conference standings with the top 2 teams from each division receiving a first round bye resulting in having to win one less game to claim the championship and gain entry into the 2007 NCAA Division 1-A Tournament.
2007 Mid American Conference Tournament News, it is pretty certain that this will be a 1 bid league and the tournament committee won't be granting any at large entries into the big dance. Akron is the only possibility of an at large but losing to Illinois Chicago and more importantly Nevada in the early non-conference season just doesn't give them any decent wins out of conference. Looking forward to the Mid American conference tournament, the field is wide open and a number of teams can possibly win entry into the Bid Dance. We still have to call the Zips the slight favorite as they are the best team in the conference as well as will be playing close to home in Ohio. A team playing well as we write is the Kent State Golden Flashes. Last years tournament winner, and a well coached, talented team, does have the fortitude to go back to back and gain entry into the 2007 NCAA tournament.

TV: The first round games will be available on local tv only. The 2 late second round games and the semifinals will be televised on FSN Ohio/Comcast depending on your cable/satellite provider. The 2007 MAC Championship game will be televised on ESPN2 at 7:00 eastern time.

Last Years Winner
Kent State Golden Flashes. The number 1 seeded Golden Flashes
had a pretty easy time defeating Buffalo and Ohio to reach the
championship game. They were met by Toledo who upset number 2
seeded Northern Illinois and 3 seed Akron in the semifinals. Kent
State never trailed and lead by as many as 18 points but saw the
lead dwindle to 3 after a furious comeback by the Rockets. Using
smothering defense and clutch free throw shooting, the Golden
Flashes held on to return to the NCAA tournament for the fist
time since 2002.
