Cleveland Browns Mock Draft Picks
Position Needs for Cleveland
Defensive End: Alvin McKinley was lost to the Broncos and Orpheus Roye the other starter is getting up there in age. The rest of the backups are not starting material. A couple picks could be spent looking to help this position and last years first rounder Kamerion Wimbley on the D-Line.
Cornerback: Gary Baxter is injury prone as is Leigh Bodden. No depth behind them at this position.
Quarterback: Charlie Frye struggles in high pressure situations and an upgrade with an out look on the future with the 3rd pick is possible.
Running Back: Only here for 1 year, Jamal Lewis is not the long term answer for Cleveland.
Draft Outlook for the Cleveland Browns
The Browns have had a very busy offseason most notably signing Jamal Lewis (Baltimore) but even more important stealing away offensive guard Eric Steinbach from Cincinnati. Steinbach will fill a major hole on the offensive line.
With the 3rd pick the Browns will likely draft Oklahoma's Adrian Peterson or Notre Dame's Brady Quinn whichever player is left on the board. Jamal Lewis was signed to only a one year deal, so that obviously doesn't limit the team from selecting a potential franchise running back like AP. If Quinn is on the board, he would be a great option as Charlie Frye doesn't appear to be a franchise QB.
Look for Cleveland to fill the more pressing holes of defensive end and cornerback in the latter rounds.
