Army just reeled off its third straight loss last week with a 11-25 loss to Wake Forest. The Black Knights opened the season with a 28-12 victory over Morgan State but losses to Ball State and Stanford leave the team where it is now: in a knot-even matchup against Louisiana Tech which college football oddsmakers at 5dimes find the spread to be even.

The Black Knights feature a dual threat QB in Angel Santiago who may be best just keeping the ball on the ground. Santiago has rushed for a team-high 271 yards but thrown just 13-of-33 for completion with just one throwing TD and an interception. Terry Baggett and Larry Dixon both have rushed for over 240 yards as well, and a host of other backs have contributed to a team whose offense has been reliant so heavily on the rush.

Louisiana Tech is 1-3 thus far this season and lost 10-13 to Kansas last week. The Bulldogs have experimented with both Scotty Young and Ryan Higgins at QB and neither has been all that superior to the other thus far. Young has 452 yards on 52.9 percent passing and Higgins has 346 on 59.2 percent. Higgins took the snaps last game and was 35-of-55, with a TD and an interception. Kenneth Dixon was effective in the backfield with 18 carries for 129 yards (7.2 per carry).

Dixon ranks second on LA Tech in rushing, with Tevin King leading the way (46 carries for 309 yards). The Bulldogs may be wise to stick to the ground given the relative yard per carry of their backs, though Sterling Griffin and D.J. Banks have both been effective receivers (35 combined receptions).
