The USC Trojans have lost three consecutive meetings against the Nebraska Cornhuskers by a total of eight points

USC played three neutral site games at the Maui Invitational, but this will be the first true road game of the season, as it looks to bounce back from a 66-60 setback to the San Diego State Aztecs as two-point home underdogs.  The Trojans are playing the Cornhuskers for the fourth consecutive season, losing three tight games by a total of eight points.  USC is 4-4 ATS on the road when the total is 119.5 or less, while the UNDER is 5-3 in that situation.

The Trojans continue to struggle shooting the basketball, as they made just 33.3 percent of their field goal attempts against the Aztecs.  USC was 1-11 on the road last year, including an 0-9 mark during conference play.  It’s going to be very hard to back this program with one of your college basketball picks against the spread, considering it has gone 8-28 away from the Galen Center over the last three years.  Offensively, the team is being led by junior guard J.T. Terrell, who is averaging 12.5 points per game.

Nebraska is 5-1 on the season and wrapped up one of its most successful Novembers in school history, which includes a 79-63 win as five-point road underdogs over Wake Forest in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.  The Cornhuskers received career nights from Ray Gallegos and Andre Almeida in that affair, as both players scored a career-high 20 points.  Nebraska is 15-5 ATS as a home underdog of three or fewer points in its last 20 opportunities, which is significant when looking at the college basketball odds page.

The Cornhuskers weren’t expected to get off to a fast start, with four new starters from last season and a rotation which includes two current or former walk-ons among its top nine players.  Nebraska has placed an emphasis on getting to the charity stripe this season, which has paid dividends in the last three games.  The team is averaging 23.0 attempts from the line in that span, which is much higher than the 10 it was averaging in the first three games of the year.

Sports bettors will likely back the Trojans due to their 20-7 ATS mark on the road after three or more consecutive home games, while the Cornhuskers are 5-11 ATS at home.
