The Philadelphia Eagles will look to get their running game going in Week 5

St. Louis has alternated wins and losses in its first three games of the season, as it comes off a bye week and expects to have third-string quarterback Austin Davis as its starter for the remaining portion of the year.  Coach Jeff Fisher gave is young player a vote of confidence earlier this week, which is important to consider when making your pro football picks, as he completed 30 of 42 passes for a career-high 327 yards and three touchdowns last time out.  St. Louis is 2-5 SU and 3-4 ATS as road underdogs of 3.5 to 7 points the last two-plus seasons.

The Rams have the ability to be balanced offensively, which can’t be ignored when looking over the NFL betting lines, as running back Zac Stacy has rushed for 181 yards on an average of 4.3 per carry.  St. Louis has dropped five of its six road meetings against Philadelphia since moving from Southern California, as it attempts to even its 2014 regular season record.

Philadelphia will look to bounce back from its first loss of the season, as it dropped a 26-21 decision to the San Francisco 49ers as 3.5-point road underdogs Sunday—losing the statistical battle by a triple-digit margin for the second consecutive contest.  The Eagles need to get their running game in order, as star LeSean McCoy is averaging a dreadful 2.7 yards per carry.  The offensive line hopes to improve its play with the return of right tackle Lane Johnson.  Philadelphia is 6-4 SU and 2-8 ATS as favorites of 3.5 to 9.5 points since 2012.

The Eagles are also hoping that signal-caller Nick Foles is able to put his last performance behind him, as he completed just 21 of 43 passes for a season-low 195 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions last Sunday.  Philadelphia should be able to move the ball due to St. Louis sitting 30th in the league in surrendering 155 rushing yards per game.

Sports bettors will likely back the Eagles due to their 6-1 ATS mark in their last seven meetings in this series.
