Ole Miss is 7-0 SU and 6-0-1 ATS through seven games of the season, as it comes off a 34-3 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers as 16-point home favorites last Saturday, while going UNDER the betting total for the fourth consecutive affair.  The Rebels entered this year with a 2-13 SU record in their last 15 games versus ranked opponents, which is important to consider when making your Week 9 college football betting picks, but both of those wins came in this Southeastern Conference rivalry.  Ole Miss has covered the number in its last four games against SEC opponents.

The Rebels need Bo Wallace to continue to play mistake-free football, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football odds, as he hasn’t turned it over in four conference games in 2014.  Ole Miss has one of the more dominant stop units in the country, as the group has forced a league-high 20 turnovers this season.  It’s important to point out that the defense has forced at least one turnover in 30 consecutive contests.

LSU has won back-to-back games, including a 41-3 blowout victory over the Kentucky wildcats as 11.5-point home favorites last Saturday, as it captured the statistical battle by 211 yards.  The Tigers are a dominating 44-4 SU under Les Miles when having a running back rush for 100-plus yards, while 25 of their 35 touchdowns have been scored by either freshmen or sophomores.  First-year players on campus in Baton Rouge have accounted for 17 of those scores.  LSU has failed to cover the number in its last seven games at Tiger Stadium in this rivalry.

The Tigers improved to 7-1 when Anthony Jennings starts under center, but he managed to complete just 7-of-14 passes for 120 yards and a single touchdown against the Wildcats.  LSU will need to make some plays on special teams in hopes of pulling off the upset, while place kicker Colby Delahoussaye will need to convert on any opportunities, as he’s gone 20-of-21 in field-goal attempts in his career.

Sports bettors will likely back the Tigers due to the underdog being 12-2 ATS in the last 14 meetings in this series.
