Kentucky’s impressive 4-1 start which featured a defeat of then-No. 25 Mizzou has been quickly reversed by consecutive losses to Auburn and Mississippi State.

Last week against the Bulldogs was not even close, as Das Prescott threw for 348 yards and threw three TDs in a 42-16 laugher.

Kentucky finds it no easier task hosting Tennessee, where college football oddsmakers set the line 9-points in favor of the Volunteers. The over/under is a high one at 57, a reflection that these teams both do possess relatively potent offensive attacks offset by underwhelming defenses.  Kentucky alone, has allowed an average of 36 points the last two weeks.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL ODDS!

Kentucky is 2-3 in SEC play, but QB Patrick Towles still has nice numbers on the year if ignoring those pesky interceptions. Nine INTs  offsets all the otherwise respectable averages. The Wildcats have been by and largely carried by Stanley Williams, who has rushed for 551 yards on 81 carries with three TDs.

Jojo Kemp and Mikel Horton have rushed for an additional 96 attempts and 356 combined yards. Towles has five legitimate receiving targets, paced by Garrett Johnson (listed as questionable with undisclosed injury) who has 512 yards on 33 catches (15.5 yards per catch).

6’3” sophomore WR Dorian Baker leads the team with three receiving TDs and he is also No. 2 in yardage (398), and No. 1 in total receptions (37).

Tennessee has dropped three of its past four games to Florida (who also defeated Kentucky by five), Arkansas and then-No. 8 Alabama, with a lone win over then- No. 19 Georgia sandwiched between two weeks ago.

In the 38-31 win over UGA Joshua Dobbs put on a show with 312 passing yards and an additional 118 rushing yards, throwing three TD passes and rushing for two. Six Vols receivers finished with 30 yards or more in the game, and Alvin Kamara caught two of the three TD passes.

Dobbs has thrown for 1,272 yards this season with nine TD passes and two INTs, and he has a passer rating of 127.5. His No.1 back Jalen Hurd has rushed for 664 yards on 144 carries (4.6 yards per carry) and leads the team with eight rushing TDs.

Dobbs has rushed for five TDs in his own right, and Kamara has three TDs on the season and a 5.5 yard average on 50 carries. Tamara has also caught 19 passes for 152 yards and has two of the team’s 11 receiving TDs.

UT Kicker Aaron Medley has been pretty poor, going 9 of 17 on FG attempts with two misses from 20 to 29 yards and just one in four accuracy from 40 to 49 yards. WR Ethan Wolf leads the team in yardage with 218 receiving yards, but there are six UT receivers with at least 10 catches and the team has a 12.2 yard per reception average on its 119 catches.
