Ohio State is off to its best start since the 2010-11 season, as it comes off an 84-53 victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers as 15.5-point home favorites last Saturday, while going OVER the betting total for a second consecutive contest.  The Buckeyes are 54-61 SU all-time against the Spartans, including a 17-37 record when playing in East Lansing, which is important to consider when making your college basketball betting picks.  Ohio State is 2-5 SU and 4-3 ATS as an underdog the last two-plus seasons, with the OVER going 4-3 in that situation.

The Buckeyes have compiled a dominating 132-50 SU record against Big Ten Conference opponents under head coach Thad Matta, including a 10-9 mark when taking on the Spartans.  Ohio State hasn’t allowed an opponent to reach 70 points this season over the first 15 games, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college basketball odds page.  Point guard Aaron Craft is the main player to keep an eye on, as he’s compiled 109 career wins during his time on campus.

Michigan State is 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS in its last six games, as it comes off a 73-56 victory over the Indiana Hoosiers as four-point road favorites last time out, while going UNDER the betting total in its last three affairs.  The Spartans also have a capable point guard in Keith Appling, who is averaging 15.6 points and shooting a career-best 47.2 percent from beyond the arc.  Michigan State is 4-0 SUATS as home favorites of 3.5 to 6 points the last two-plus seasons, with no clear edge in terms of the betting total (2-2 Over/Under).

The Spartans will be playing just their second home game featuring top-five teams in the Tom Izzo era, with the first one resulting in a 72-68 defeat to the Indiana Hoosiers on Feb. 19, 2013.  Michigan State entered its last affair a perfect 12-0 SU on the season when outshooting its opponent, which was helped by recording an assist on 63.3 percent of its baskets.

Sports bettors will likely back the Buckeyes due to their 4-1 ATS mark in their last five road games versus a team with a winning home record.
