The Seahawks travel to the Titans in a battle of playoff contenders.

Both the Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans are 1-1 this season as they meet Sunday in Nashville. Both are favored to win their respective divisions, the Seahawks in the NFC West and the Titans in the AFC South. Seattle leads the series 10-6 against Tennessee. The Seahawks have won six of the last seven against the Titans, including a 20-13 win in Seattle in 2013. Seattle has not played in Nashville since 2005.

Seattle is coached by Pete Carroll. The Seahawks lost at the Green Bay Packers 17-9 in week one and beat the San Francisco 49ers 12-9 last week. Seattle was a 13.5 point favorite against San Francisco and the total was 42. It is hard to cover a 13.5 point spread when you don’t even score 13 points. San Francisco led 9-6 in the fourth before the Seahawks scored the only touchdown of the game on a 9 yard touchdown pass from Russell Wilson to Paul Richardson with just over 7 minutes to go. Seattle missed the extra point. The 49ers went three and out on their last possession before Seattle ran out the clock with less than five minutes to go. Seattle is 0-2 ATS and the total is 0-2 this season.

Tennessee is coached by Mike Mularkey. Tennessee lost at home in week one to the Oakland Raiders 26-16 and last week beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 37-16 on the road. The Titans were one point favorites against the Jaguars and the total was 42. Tennessee led 6-3 at halftime against Jacksonville. The Titans would score 24 straight points to lead 30-3 in the fourth and would end up winning by 21. Tennessee is 1-1 ATS and the total is 1-1 this season.

The Titans are 4-1 ATS against the Seahawks in the last five games.

Seattle is averaging 11 points a game. They will have to be much better on offense if they want to be serious contenders as many expected them to be before the season. The defense is still dominant though but has injuries to key players. I think the Titans are slightly overvalued here, and I like the Seahawks to win a tough road game.
