The Philadelphia Eagles won both meetings against the Washington Redskins in 2013

Washington has split its first two games of the season, as it comes off a 41-10 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars as five-point home favorites Sunday—winning the statistical battle by 301 yards.  The Redskins will be led by quarterback Kirk Cousins due to an injured Robert Griffin III, which can’t be ignored when making your Week 4 NFL predictions, but he’s a capable replacement after completing 22-of-33 passes for 250 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions last week.  Washington is 1-7 SU and 3-5 ATS as road underdogs of 3.5 to 7 points since 2012, with the UNDER going 5-3 in that situation.

The Redskins are allowing just 234.5 yards per game, which is important to consider when looking over the NFL betting lines, while it ranks fourth in giving up just 13.5 points per game.  Washington is going to have a hard time matching those numbers in this matchup, with Philadelphia having LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles.  It’s important to point out that the team dropped both meetings last year—allowing 57 combined points in its first go around against Chip Kelly’s offense.

Philadelphia has won and covered the spread in its first two games this season—winning the statistical battle by a triple-digit margin in each of those affairs.  The Eagles still have some things to work on, especially in the red zone due to scoring three touchdowns and four field goals in eight opportunities.  Starting quarterback Nick Foles has put together a dismal 45.8 passer rating inside opponents’ 20-yard lines.  Philadelphia is 2-2 SU and 1-3 ATS as home favorites of 3.5 to 7 points over the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER cashing in three of those contests.

The Eagles are 9-1 in regular-season contests since Nov. 3—averaging NFL bests of 33.0 points and 437.7 total yards, which includes a 5-0 mark at home.  Sproles has been truly dynamic since being acquired in the offseason from the New Orleans Saints, which includes seven catches for 152 yards last week.

Sports bettors will likely play the total, as the OVER is 4-0 in the Redskins last four games following a SU win of 14 or more points.
