Giants vs. Eagles NFL Preview
The Philadelphia Eagles will face their former head coach Thursday night

Kansas City has opened up its 2013 season with a pair of victories, including a 17-16 win over the Dallas Cowboys as three-point home favorites Sunday, while going UNDER the betting total for a second consecutive contest.  Chiefs head coach Andy Reid will face a franchise that he led for 14 years, which is important to consider when making your NFL expert picks Thursday night.  “I want to make sure I concentrate on the game at hand,” commented Reid this week.  Kansas City is 3-1 SUATS as road underdogs of three points or less the last two-plus seasons.

The Chiefs are 2-4 all-time against the Eagles, including a 1-1 mark when playing in the City of Brotherly Love.  Kansas City is tied for second in the league in turnover differential, as the offense is one of two in the league to have zero giveaways heading into Week 3.  Offensively, the team possesses a perfect red zone percentage, as it has converted on all five attempts and scored 35 points in the process.  Running back Jamaal Charles is the player to watch on that side of the ball, as he’s averaged 5.72 yards per carry over the course of his career.

Philadelphia has split its first two games, but it has been clearly outplayed in its last five quarters of action, as it looks to bounce back from a 33-30 defeat to the San Diego Chargers as 7.5-point home favorites in Week 2.  The Eagles have gained 954 yards and scored seven touchdowns in first-year head coach Chip Kelly’s system, with running back LeSean McCoy accounting for 356 of those yards.  Wide receiver DeSean Jackson is enjoying a bounce-back campaign—catching 16 passes for 297 yards.  Philadelphia is 6-13 ATS as a favorite since 2011, with no clear edge in terms of the betting total (9-9-1 Over/Under).

The Eagles have been pretty good defensively inside the red zone—forcing a couple turnovers in that area a week ago.  Philadelphia is hoping its offensive tackles can continue their strong play in this matchup, as it prepares to face a pair of terrific edge pass rushers in Tamba Hall and Justin Houston.

Sports bettors will likely back the Chiefs due to the Eagles being 0-6-1 ATS in their last seven games versus teams with a winning record.
