NFL- Vick and Culpepper

So, Michael Vick, the Falcons QB, has been indicted with three others on federal charges of running a dog fighting business out of him home. It’s alleged the sponsorship of dogfights started in 2001, the same year that he entered the NFL.Considering the league’s new policy regarding criminal and inappropriate behavior, you have to wonder if Vick will be on the football field in 2007?

Dante Culpepper, the frustrated Miami QB, has been released as the Fins look to go in another direction. Trent Green, former Chiefs’ QB, was traded for about six weeks ago and the Dolphins are looking to him to be their starter.

Does the Vick probe and indictment give Culpepper a possible chance at starting for the Atlanta Falcons? Culpepper is a nine-year veteran with 1,759 completions against 2,741 attempts (64.2%). He’s thrown 137 TDs and 89 INTs. Culpepper, who has a career QB rating of 90.8 was a disappointment last season with the Dolphins. Last season, he only played in four games for Miami, winning one and earning a rating of 77.0.

The Jags have shown interest in Culpepper. With the Falcons’ woes, the market may start looking bright for the former Minnesota and Miami quarterback, who has talent and a desire to play.

The Fins have been trying to trade Culpepper, a former Pro-Bowler while the NFL Players Association had filed a breach-of-contract grievance on his behalf just yesterday.

Green, a 14-year veteran, was injured last season and played the first game and final seven plus a playoff contest. He threw 7 TDs and 9 INTs and was sacked 24 times in 2006. In his career, he has had 157 TDs and 101 INTs.

The QB-shuffle for 2007 is starting to look interesting
