The Titans have been one of the most improved teams in the NFL, and it is largely attributable to the health of second-year quarterback Marcus Mariota, who appeared in just two games in his rookie season due to injury. This season, the Oregon alum is averring 219.5 yards passing per game with 10 TDs and 1,372 yards on the season. He has thrown 61.9 percent fro completion, but he has launched six interceptions (3.2 percent) and been sacked nine times in six games.

Mariota has been good rushing the football, too, though, averaging 7.3 yards per carry on his 27 attempts with nine first downs and a TD. DeMarco Murray has been good in the backfield with 526 yards and four TDs on the season. Mariota’s top-two pass targets have been Rishard Matthews and Delanie Walker.

Matthews has 282 yards and two TDs while Walker has 246 yards and two TDs, as well. Murray has caught for 172 yards on 24 receptions out of the backfield, and Kendall Wright has caught 11 of 13 targeted passes for 156 yards and a TD.

Last week the Titans defeated Cleveland 28-26 as Mariota passed for 284 yards on 17 of 24 passing with three TD passes and one pick. Mariota rushed for another 64 yards on seven attempts, and Murray went for 65 yards on 21 carries with a TD. Kendall Wright had a big game at wideout with eight passes caught of nine targets for 133 total yards and a TD.

The Titans defense came up big in limiting the Browns to just 40 rushing yards and Tennessee had six sacks and six tackles for loss in the game. For the defense, Avery Williamson led the way with nine tackles (six solo), one sack and one tackle for loss.

Indianapolis Colts are 2-4 on the season but are 0-3 on the road this season, and will still be searching for that first road win in Nashville this Sunday. Last week the Colts fell 26-23 on the road to Houston.

Andrew Luck has thrown for 1,721 yards on a 64.1 percent completion ratio with 11 TDs and four INTs on the season. He has been sacked 23 times though, and his passer rating is just 94.2. T.Y. Hilton has been the No. 1 receiver with 38 catches on 64 targets for 556 yards and three TDs. Phillip Dorsett and Jack Doyle have caught for over 200 yards apiece, as well, and Doyle has a team-tying high three TDs to his credit.

In the backfield, Frank Gore has rushed for 434 yards on 100 carries, but Luck has been good rushing on his 22 attempts (six yards per). The Colts rank No. 12 in the NFL in passing yardage (262.3) and No. 17 in rushing (101.8 yards per). The Colts average 26.7 points per game, but have one of the worst defenses in the NFL, allowing 29 points per game (No. 28).

The Colts have given up at least 20 every week and the Detroit Lions lit them up for 39 points in Week 1. Indianapolis also is tied for No. 28 in the NFL in team sacks with just eight this season. The defense has not generated much pressure, and Mariota could go nuts on it really. The Titans should prevail though they are just three-point favorites.
